If you are starting from Srinagar, take the NH1D highway towards Sonamarg. The distance is approximately 80 kilometers and will take around 2.5 to 3 hours by car. As you approach Sonamarg, follow the signs to the town center. Once in Sonamarg, continue on the road towards Thajiwas Glacier, which leads you to Krishnasar Lake. You may need to park your car at a designated area and hire a local pony or guide for the last stretch to the lake, which is about 6 kilometers away. Expect to pay around INR 500-800 for the pony ride.
