If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Kochi. Head east on NH544 towards Angamaly. Continue on NH544 and then take the exit towards Munnar. Stay on the Munnar Road (NH 49) for approximately 60 km. Once you reach Munnar, take the road towards Kallimedu. Use GPS navigation to guide you to the coordinates 10.1937433, 76.8122368. There is limited parking available near the waterfall area, and it is advisable to park your car in designated spots.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Kochi to Munnar. Several private and state-run buses operate this route. The journey takes about 4-5 hours. Upon reaching Munnar, you can hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to Kallimedu. The distance from Munnar to Kallimedu is approximately 15 km, and the taxi fare may cost around ₹300-₹500. Ensure you confirm the fare before starting your journey.
Trekking
After reaching Kallimedu, the last stretch to Kochu kuth waterfalls involves a short trek. From the drop-off point, follow the marked trail leading to the waterfall. The trek is about 1.5 km and may take around 20-30 minutes. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the terrain can be uneven and steep in some areas.
