Walking
From Esplanade, head towards the north-east exit of the Esplanade Metro Station. Once you exit the station, take a left and walk towards Mahatma Gandhi Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Strand Road. Cross the road carefully and continue walking straight. After about 1 km, you will see the James Prinsep Monument on your right, located along the banks of the Hooghly River in the Maidan area. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.
Metro
If you prefer to take the metro, from the Esplanade Metro Station, board the train towards Dum Dum. Get off at the next stop, which is the Park Street Station. From Park Street, take the exit towards Park Street and walk to the nearest bus stop or taxi stand. From there, you can catch a bus or a cycle rickshaw heading towards Fort William. Make sure to tell the driver you are going to the James Prinsep Monument. The total travel time using this method will be around 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
