    From the heart of Esplanade, head towards Jawaharlal Nehru Road. If you are near the Esplanade Metro Station, exit onto the main road and face the direction of the bus stand. Walk straight for about 500 meters; you will pass several shops and street vendors. Keep an eye out for the Fire Brigade Head Quarter on your left. The entrance to the Indian Museum is approximately at the corner of Jawaharlal Nehru Road and the street leading away from the Fire Brigade.

    If you prefer to take the metro, locate the Esplanade Metro Station. Board the train heading towards the Dumdum direction. Get off at the next station, which is Mahatma Gandhi Road. Exit the station and walk straight towards Jawaharlal Nehru Road. The Indian Museum will be about a 10-minute walk from the station, and you will notice the museum's entrance on your left.
