Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Esplanade area, start by heading towards the south on Jawaharlal Nehru Road (also known as Esplanade). Walk past the famous New Empire Cinema on your left side. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the crossing with the Maidan. Here, take a left onto Strand Road, which runs parallel to the Hooghly River. Keep walking for about 500 meters, and you will see the James Prinsep Monument on your right. The monument is located near the river, and you can easily spot it as you approach.

  • Public Bus

    From Esplanade, you can take a local bus heading towards Hastings or Fort William. Look for buses labeled with routes stopping at 'Maidan' or 'Fort William'.
