If you are near the Esplanade Metro Station, take the Blue Line towards Dakhineswar. Travel for two stops and get off at the Maidan Metro Station. Upon exiting the station, head towards the Dufferin Road exit. Once outside, walk straight towards Dharmtala, keeping an eye out for signs pointing to Shaheed Minar.
Bus
From various points around Kolkata, you can catch a bus heading towards Dharmtala. Look for buses numbered 5, 6, or 12 that go through this area. Once you reach the Dharmtala bus stop, disembark and walk towards Dufferin Road. Shaheed Minar will be visible as you approach the area. It is located just a short walk from the bus stop.
Rickshaw
You can hire a cycle rickshaw or an auto-rickshaw from your location in Kolkata. Tell the driver you want to go to Shaheed Minar at Dharmtala, Dufferin Road. Most drivers will be familiar with it. The ride will take you directly to the landmark, and you can enjoy the sights along the way.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Maidan or near Victoria Memorial, you can walk to Shaheed Minar. Head towards Dufferin Road, and follow the road signs pointing to Dharmtala. It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk from Victoria Memorial, and you will encounter various shops and eateries along the way.
