Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Leh and head towards Nubra Valley via the Khardung La Pass, which is about 39 km from Leh. The road to Turtuk is well-marked. Continue on the main road until you reach Diskit, then take a left towards Turtuk. The distance from Diskit to Turtuk is about 90 km. Follow the signs, and you will pass through beautiful landscapes. Once in Turtuk, park your vehicle in the designated area near the village. The Turtuk waterfall is located about 1.5 km from the village center, and you can reach it on foot by following the trail.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transport, take a shared taxi or a bus from Leh to Nubra Valley. Buses and shared taxis leave from Leh’s main bus stand and typically travel to Diskit. The journey takes around 5-6 hours. From Diskit, you can hire a local taxi or find shared transport to Turtuk, which is about 90 km away. The fare for the taxi from Diskit to Turtuk can range from INR 1,500 to INR 2,000. Once you arrive in Turtuk, the waterfall is approximately 1.5 km from the village, which you can reach by walking along the scenic paths.

• Trekking

  If you are adventurous and prefer trekking, you can hike from Turtuk village to the waterfall. The trek is approximately 1.5 km and can take about 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. The path is generally well-trodden, but be cautious as some areas might be steep or uneven. Carry water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. The views along the trek are stunning, showcasing the natural beauty of the region.
