Getting There

  If you are driving, head towards Khardung from Leh. The journey will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on the road conditions. Start on NH 1D, and follow the signs to Khardung La. The road is well-marked but can be challenging due to altitude and weather conditions. Once you reach Khardung La, you will have a stunning view of the Ladakh Mountain Ranges.

  To get to the Ladakh Mountain Ranges via public transport, take a shared taxi or bus from Leh to Khardung. Shared taxis usually leave from the main market area in Leh. Make sure to confirm the fare, which could range from INR 300-500 per person. The ride will take about 2-3 hours. Upon reaching Khardung, you will be very close to the mountain ranges, which you can explore on foot.

  For the adventurous, renting a bicycle in Leh is a fantastic way to reach the Ladakh Mountain Ranges. Head towards Khardung La, which is approximately 39 km away from Leh. The uphill ride is challenging but offers breathtaking views. Ensure you have the right gear and enough water. It may take 4-6 hours depending on your fitness level.

  If you're an experienced rider, consider renting a motorbike in Leh. Take the route to Khardung La via NH 1D. The ride is thrilling and gives you the freedom to stop and enjoy the scenery. Ensure you have a valid driving license and protective gear. Fuel stations are available along the route, so plan your refueling stops. The trip will take about 2-3 hours.
