Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Leh city center and head towards the Leh-Srinagar Highway (NH 1D). Drive for about 6 km until you reach the village of Choglamsar. From there, take the right turn towards the road leading to the Red Maitreya Temple. Continue on this road for approximately 2 km, and you will see the temple on your left. Parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
For travelers using public transportation, you can catch a local bus or shared taxi from Leh to Choglamsar. Buses leave from the main bus stand in Leh and take around 20-30 minutes to reach Choglamsar. Once you arrive in Choglamsar, you can either walk (about 15-20 minutes) to the temple or hire a local taxi for a short ride. The fare for a shared taxi should be around ₹20-₹50 per person, depending on the number of passengers.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can start from Leh city center and walk towards Choglamsar. The distance is approximately 6 km, which may take around 1.5 to 2 hours. The route is relatively straightforward; just follow the main road leading out of Leh. Once you reach Choglamsar, take the right turn towards the Red Maitreya Temple and continue on foot for another 2 km.
