Car
If you're traveling by car from Leh, head northwest on the NH 1D road towards Spituk. After approximately 7 kilometers, you will reach Spituk village. Look for signs indicating 'Spituk Marshes' as you approach the village. Once you enter Spituk, follow the Samburma road, and the marshes will be on your left-hand side. Parking is usually available near the marshes.
Public Transportation
To reach Spituk marshes via public transportation, start at the Leh Main Bus Stand. Take a local shared taxi or bus heading towards Spituk village. The ride typically takes about 20-30 minutes and costs around ₹50-₹100 per person. Inform the driver that you want to disembark at Spituk. Once you arrive in Spituk, follow the Samburma road on foot for about 1 kilometer to reach the marshes.
Walking
If you prefer walking from Leh, you can take a leisurely trek to Spituk marshes. The walk is approximately 7 kilometers and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Start from the Leh Palace and head towards the NH 1D road. Follow the road northwest towards Spituk. Be sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
