Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey from the main market area in Leh. Head south on the Main Bazaar road until you reach the intersection at Chutey. Turn left onto Chutey road and continue straight. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the junction where the road forks. Take the right fork towards Shey Palace. Follow the road for approximately 7 kilometers. You will see the Shey Palace on your left; the Ancient Palace is located nearby. Follow the signs to the entrance.

    Rent a bicycle in Leh and set off from the main market area. Cycle along the Leh Manali Highway (NH3). Continue straight for about 7 kilometers, enjoying the beautiful views along the way. The Ancient Palace Shey will be on your right side as you approach Shey village, just before you reach Shey Palace. There are signboards that will guide you to the palace entrance.
