Walking
From the main market in Leh, head towards the Leh Palace. Once you reach the palace, continue walking straight towards the direction of the Choglamsar road. After about 500 meters, take a left onto the Basgo road. Continue on this road for approximately 4 kilometers. You will pass through scenic landscapes and small villages. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Basgo. Upon arrival in Basgo, follow the signs to the Basgo Gompa, which is perched on a hilltop. The gompa is visible from the road, so you should be able to navigate your way there easily.
Local Bus
From the main bus station in Leh, look for a bus heading towards Basgo. Buses are usually available every hour, and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Inform the conductor that your destination is Basgo Gompa. After you arrive at the Basgo stop, exit the bus and follow the path leading uphill towards the gompa. It is a short walk of about 15 minutes from the bus stop to the gompa, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way.
Trekking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can trek from Leh to Basgo Gompa. Start your trek from the Leh Palace, following the trail that leads out of the city. The trek is approximately 5 kilometers long and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. The route offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the journey. Once you reach Basgo, follow the signs to the gompa located on the hill.
