Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're in Mcleodganj town, you can walk to The Tibet Museum. Start from the main square in Mcleodganj, head towards the main road (Bhagsunag Road) and walk in the direction of Dharamshala. Continue on this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Gangchen Kyishong. Follow the signs towards Gangchen Kyishong. After about 500 meters, you will see the CTA (Central Tibetan Administration) building. The Tibet Museum is located on the 2nd floor of the 'T' building within the CTA complex. The walk should take you around 20-25 minutes.

    You can take a taxi from any location in Mcleodganj to The Tibet Museum. Simply ask your driver to take you to 'Gangchen Kyishong, near the CTA building.' The fare should be around 300-400 INR depending on your starting point, and the journey will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a local bus from Mcleodganj to Dharamshala. Buses frequently run from the Mcleodganj bus stand to the main bus station in Dharamshala. Once you arrive at the Dharamshala bus station, you can either walk to The Tibet Museum (approximately 1.5 kilometers) or take a local taxi from the bus station to the museum. The bus fare is approximately 20 INR, and the taxi fare from the bus station to the museum will be about 150-200 INR.
