If you're traveling by car, start from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. Head south on NH6 towards Cherrapunji. After approximately 54 kilometers, you will reach Cherrapunji. Once in Cherrapunji, look for the signposts directing you to Arwah Cave, which is located about 10 kilometers from the town center. Follow the road signs, and you'll arrive at the cave entrance.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, you can take a shared taxi or a bus from Shillong to Cherrapunji. The journey takes about 2 hours. Once you reach Cherrapunji, you can hire a local taxi or a bike to take you to Arwah Cave, which is approximately a 30-minute ride from the main town. Walking
If you're already in Cherrapunji and prefer walking, you can trek to Arwah Cave from the town. The walk is about 10 kilometers and will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Start from the main market area in Cherrapunji, head towards the direction of the village of Bholaganj, and follow the path leading to the cave. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
