Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Shillong city center. Head southeast on Police Bazar Road and follow signs for Laitlum. After approximately 10 km, you will reach the junction at Mawpat. Take a left onto the Laitlum road and continue for another 8 km until you reach the Laitlum View Point. The road can be narrow and winding, so drive cautiously. There are no tolls on this route.
Public Transportation
To reach Laitlum View Point using public transport, take a shared taxi or bus from Police Bazar in Shillong to Laitlum Village. The fare should be around INR 50-100 per person. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Laitlum View Point. Once you arrive at Laitlum Village, you will need to hike approximately 1 km to the viewpoint. The hike may take about 20-30 minutes and involves some elevation, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
Hiking
If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can hike from Laitlum Village to the viewpoint. Starting from the village, follow the marked trails that lead uphill. The hike is scenic and takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Be prepared for some steep sections and enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way.
