Car
If you are driving, head towards Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. From Shillong, take the NH6 and follow the signs towards Jowai. After approximately 25 kilometers, you will reach a junction where you will need to turn left onto the road leading to Nongjrong. Continue on this road for about 15 km, and you will find the Nongjrong viewpoint on your left. Be aware that some of the roads may be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. There are no entry fees to access the viewpoint.
Public Transportation
To reach Nongjrong by public transportation, start by taking a shared taxi or bus from Shillong to Jowai. These typically leave from the Police Bazar area in Shillong. The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Jowai, you can hire a local taxi or an auto-rickshaw to take you to Nongjrong viewpoint. The taxi will cost you around INR 500-700 for a round trip. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey, and confirm the return time with the driver.
