Getting There

• Train

  Start your journey at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) or any central Mumbai railway station. Board a local train on the Central Line heading towards Karjat or Kasara. Get off at Neral Station. From Neral, you can catch a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to Matheran. Please note that vehicles are not allowed in Matheran, so you will need to walk or take a toy train from the entrance of Matheran to Alexander Point.

• Bus

  From CST, take a BEST bus towards Dadar. From Dadar, switch to a bus heading to Neral (look for buses that say 'Neral' on the front). Once you arrive at Neral, hire a taxi or auto-rickshaw to Matheran. Remember that you will need to walk or take a toy train from the Matheran entrance to reach Alexander Point.

• Taxi/Auto-rickshaw

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi or auto-rickshaw from anywhere in Mumbai to Neral. Once at Neral, you will need to take a taxi or auto-rickshaw to Matheran. Note that you cannot take vehicles inside Matheran, so you will need to walk or catch the toy train to reach Alexander Point.

• Walking

  If you are already in Matheran, you can reach Alexander Point by walking. Head towards the main market area and look for signs leading to Alexander Point. The trail is well-marked and will take you through scenic views, with the walk taking approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your pace.
