Local Train
If you are at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST), take a local train on the Central Line towards Kalyan. Get off at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the left to reach the exit towards the Fort area. Once you are outside, you can either take an auto-rickshaw or walk to your destination. The David Sassoon Library is about 1.5 kilometers away, which is a 20-minute walk straight down Mahatma Gandhi Road.
Auto-Rickshaw
From anywhere in Mumbai, you can hail an auto-rickshaw to take you to 'David Sassoon Library, Kala Ghoda'. Ensure you clearly mention the full address: '152, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Off David Sassoon, Library Marg, opposite Jehangir Art Gallery'. Most auto-rickshaw drivers will know this location as it is a popular tourist attraction.
Bus
Take a BEST bus to Kala Ghoda; routes like 123 and 19 pass nearby. Get off at the Kala Ghoda stop. From there, walk along Mahatma Gandhi Road for about 5 minutes. The David Sassoon Library is located on your left, opposite Jehangir Art Gallery. Look for the large sign that marks the entrance.
Walking
If you are in the Fort area, the library is easily accessible on foot. Depending on where you are, head towards Mahatma Gandhi Road. The library is located at 152, Mahatma Gandhi Road, opposite Jehangir Art Gallery. Look for the entrance marked with the library's name. This is a pleasant walk through one of Mumbai's vibrant neighborhoods.
