Walk
If you are in the city center of Mysore, head towards the Mysore Palace. From the palace, walk towards the intersection of Sayyaji Rao Road and Ashoka Road. Continue straight on Sayyaji Rao Road until you reach the junction with KRS Road. Turn left onto KRS Road and continue walking straight. The MYSURU RAILWAY MUSEUM will be on your left side, opposite the CFTRI (Central Food Technological Research Institute). The walk is approximately 2.5 kilometers and should take around 30-35 minutes.
Auto-rickshaw
You can easily hail an auto-rickshaw from anywhere in Mysore. Tell the driver 'Mysuru Railway Museum' or provide the address: 'KRS Rd, opp. CFTRI, Medar Block, Yadavagiri'. The ride from the Mysore Palace area should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic, and cost around ₹50-₹100.
Public Bus
If you prefer public transport, you can take a bus from any major bus stop in Mysore. Look for buses heading towards Yadavagiri or KRS Road. Ask the conductor to let you know when you reach 'CFTRI' stop. Once you get off, walk a short distance towards KRS Road, and the MYSURU RAILWAY MUSEUM will be directly in front of you. The bus fare is typically under ₹20.
