Car
If you are starting from Kohima, take National Highway 2 (NH2) towards Dimapur. After reaching Dimapur, continue on NH2 towards the town of Wokha. Once in Wokha, follow the signs to the town of Mokokchung. From Mokokchung, take the road to Longwa, which is approximately 35 km from there. The roads might be winding, so drive carefully. Upon reaching Longwa, you will find the village and the King's house, which is a popular tourist attraction.
Public Bus
From Kohima, you can take a public bus to Dimapur. From Dimapur, board a bus heading to Mokokchung. The bus ride from Kohima to Dimapur costs around INR 100-150 and takes about 2-3 hours. The bus from Dimapur to Mokokchung costs around INR 200-300 and takes approximately 4-5 hours. After reaching Mokokchung, you can hire a local taxi or shared jeep to Longwa, which is about 35 km away. The taxi fare should be around INR 800-1200 depending on negotiations.
Shared Jeep
If you are in Mokokchung, you can find shared jeeps that go to Longwa. These jeeps typically leave from the Mokokchung taxi stand and operate when they are full. The fare is usually around INR 300-400 per person, and the journey takes about 1-1.5 hours. Make sure to confirm the route with the driver, as some jeeps may go to different villages.
Local Taxi
If you prefer a more private mode of transportation, you can hire a local taxi from Mokokchung directly to Longwa. Negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around INR 800-1200 for a one-way trip.
