Bus
From the center of Panaji, head to the nearest bus station, which is located at the bus terminal near the Municipal Garden. Look for buses heading towards Mapusa. Board any bus that has 'Mapusa' displayed on the front. The bus fare is very affordable, usually around ₹20-30. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Mapusa, look for buses or shared taxis heading to Baga. You can find these just outside the Mapusa bus station. Board one, and it will take you directly to Baga Beach, which is about a 20-minute ride.
Taxi/Auto-rickshaw
From wherever you are in Panaji, you can easily find an auto-rickshaw or taxi. Simply hail one from the street or ask your hotel to call one for you. Tell the driver you want to go to Baga Beach. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic, and the fare will generally range from ₹700-₹1000. Make sure to negotiate the price if you are using a taxi.
Walking and Public Transport
If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can walk to the nearest bus stop in Panaji and take a bus to Mapusa, as described earlier. After reaching Mapusa, switch to a local bus or taxi to Baga Beach. This option lets you experience local life and see more of the area, but be prepared for a longer travel time of approximately 1.5 hours in total.
