Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Udaipur, take NH58 towards Kumbhalgarh. The distance is approximately 85 km and will take around 2 to 2.5 hours. As you approach Kumbhalgarh, follow the signs to the Kumbhalgarh Fort. The last stretch includes a winding road that leads directly to the fort area. You will find parking available near the entrance. There is a nominal fee for parking, typically around INR 50.

• Bus

  From major cities in Rajasthan, including Udaipur and Jodhpur, you can catch a state-run or private bus to Kumbhalgarh. Buses frequently run from Udaipur’s main bus station (Shakti Nagar Bus Stand) to Kumbhalgarh, taking about 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive at the Kumbhalgarh bus stop, you can either take a shared auto-rickshaw for about INR 30 or walk approximately 2 km to reach Badal Mahal located within the Kumbhalgarh Fort complex.

• Taxi

  Hiring a taxi is a convenient option if you prefer a more direct route. Taxis can be booked from Udaipur or other nearby cities. The fare from Udaipur to Kumbhalgarh typically ranges from INR 1,200 to INR 1,800 depending on the taxi service provider. The driver will take you straight to the entrance of Kumbhalgarh Fort where Badal Mahal is located. Ensure to confirm the return fare in advance.

  Once you reach Kumbhalgarh, local transport options include auto-rickshaws and taxis available at the bus station. If you prefer walking, the fort is about 2 km from the bus stop, and the route is scenic, providing great views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven.
