Getting There

The route is scenic, passing through beautiful landscapes and small villages. Once you reach Pelling, take the road towards Khecheopalri Lake, which is about 30 kilometers from Pelling. Follow the signs to the lake; the road is well-maintained. There is no additional entry fee for the lake area, but ensure you have cash for parking, which is around ₹30. The View Point is easily accessible from the parking area.

  To reach Khecheopalri Lake via public transportation, take a shared taxi or a bus from Gangtok to Pelling. The journey will take about 4-5 hours and cost approximately ₹300-₹500. Once in Pelling, you can hire a local taxi for the remaining 30 kilometers to Khecheopalri Lake. The taxi fare should range between ₹600-₹800. Upon reaching the lake, you can find local guides who can show you the best routes to the View Point, which is a short walk from the parking area.

  For those looking for an adventurous option, you can trek from Pelling to Khecheopalri Lake. This trek is about 30 kilometers and can take approximately 6-8 hours, depending on your pace. It’s advisable to start early in the morning to make the most of your day. The trail is well-marked and offers breathtaking views along the way. Make sure to carry sufficient water and snacks. There is no entry fee for trekking, but consider hiring a local guide for a better experience, which can cost around ₹500.
