Getting There

• Car

  If you are starting from the city of Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), head east on the NH38 highway towards Thanjavur. Continue on NH38 for approximately 35 km until you reach the town of Thanjavur. From Thanjavur, take the exit onto the NH67 highway towards Kumbakonam. After about 20 km, take the exit towards Kumbakonam and continue straight. After reaching Kumbakonam, follow the signs for the route to Nerur South. The destination, Nerur South North direction Kauvery Beach, will be located approximately 10 km from Kumbakonam. Keep an eye out for local signage to guide you to the beach area.

• Bus

  You can take a bus from Tiruchirappalli to Kumbakonam. Buses run frequently, so check the local bus schedule for timings. The fare is usually around INR 50-100. Once you arrive in Kumbakonam, you can take an auto-rickshaw or a local bus to reach Nerur South. Inform the driver that you want to go to 'Nerur South North direction Kauvery Beach', and the fare for the auto-rickshaw should be around INR 200-300 depending on the distance.

• Train

  If you are near a railway station, catch a train to Kumbakonam Railway Station. Once you arrive, you will need to take an auto-rickshaw to reach Nerur South. The train fare varies based on the class but expect to pay around INR 100-300. Upon arriving at the railway station, you can find auto-rickshaws readily available. Just inform the driver of your destination, and they will take you to Kauvery Beach in Nerur South.

• Local Transportation

  Once you are in Nerur South, the beach is accessible by foot or by bicycle if you prefer. The area is small and local pathways can lead you to the beach directly. Make sure to ask locals for directions if needed.
