We particularly loved the spice and coffee country of Wayanad, the heritage merchants’ port town of Thalassery, and the pristine Malabar coastline — not to mention that blissful Indian backwater experience in Valiyaparamba. For us, it was less about the "tourist highlights" and more about experiencing the local culture. Allowing us to explore, eat local food, take photographs and learn about the region traditions.
