The trek starts from Chopta, which is accessible by road from major cities in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. From Rishikesh or Dehradun, hire a taxi or take a bus to Chopta. The journey takes approximately 7-8 hours. Taxis from Rishikesh to Chopta may cost around INR 3,000-5,000 , while bus fares are typically between INR 500-1,000. Alternatively, Dugalbitta is located 7km before Chopta on the Ukhimath-Chopta Road. From Rishikesh, a shared jeep/taxi can be booked to Chopta/Dugalbitta. Public transport is also available to reach here.
