To escape the demon, Lord Shiva sought refuge in this cave, where he meditated and prayed to Lord Vishnu for help. Lord Vishnu then appeared in the form of Mohini and tricked Bhasmasur into touching his own head, leading to the demon's self-destruction.The temple itself is a natural cave adorned with stalactites and stalagmites that are worshipped as Shivalingas.
