Getting there

Taxi or Private Car

If you are already in the Valley of Flowers National Park, you can hire a taxi or drive your own vehicle to reach Topovan. From the main entrance of the Valley of Flowers, head towards the Ghangaria village road. Continue along this road until you reach the Ghangaria base point. The distance is approximately 10 kilometers, and it takes about 30 minutes by car. Once you arrive at Ghangaria, you will need to park your vehicle and continue the journey on foot as private vehicles are not allowed beyond this point.

Trekking

From Ghangaria, you will embark on a trek to Topovan. The trek is about 3 kilometers and generally takes around 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. The trail is well-marked, and you will be surrounded by stunning landscapes and diverse flora. Make sure to wear sturdy trekking shoes and carry sufficient water and snacks for the journey. Follow the signs towards Topovan, and you will eventually reach your destination.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Joshimath to Govindghat. Buses run frequently and the fare is approximately INR 100-150. From Govindghat, you will need to hire a local jeep or take a shared taxi to reach Ghangaria, which costs around INR 300-400. Once at Ghangaria, follow the trekking route as mentioned earlier to reach Topovan.
