Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Gangotri from the nearest major town, which is Uttarkashi. From Uttarkashi, follow the road signs toward Gangotri, which is approximately 100 km away. The road is scenic but can be narrow and winding, so drive cautiously. Once you reach Gangotri, park your car at designated parking areas. From here, Flowers Valley is a trek away.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Gangotri via public transport, you can take a bus from Rishikesh or Uttarkashi. Rishikesh to Gangotri buses are available, and the journey takes about 7-8 hours. Ensure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as they may not operate frequently. Upon arrival at Gangotri, you will need to trek to Flowers Valley, as there are no direct vehicles to the valley.

• Trekking

  From Gangotri, the trek to Flowers Valley is approximately 12 km and usually takes about 4-5 hours. The trail is well-marked, and you will pass through beautiful landscapes and lush greenery. Make sure to wear comfortable trekking shoes and carry enough water and snacks for the journey. The trek is moderately challenging, so be prepared for some steep sections.
