Getting There

  • Walking

    To reach the Valley of Flowers from the nearest parking area, you will need to walk approximately 2 km into the park. Start at the entrance of the Valley of Flowers National Park, which is well-marked and located at PH6W+W84, Uttarakhand 246443. Follow the clearly defined trails into the park. The path is mostly flat but can be rocky in some sections. Ensure you have sturdy walking shoes and plenty of water.

  • Local Transport

    If you are starting from Joshimath, take a shared taxi or jeep to Govindghat, which is the base for the trek to Valley of Flowers. The fare is approximately INR 100-200 per person. From Govindghat, you will have to walk to the park entrance, which is about 10 km away. You can hire a pony or a porter at Govindghat if you prefer not to walk.

  • Public Transportation

    Travel to Joshimath by bus from major cities like Rishikesh or Haridwar. Bus fares range from INR 300 to INR 600 depending on your starting point. Once in Joshimath, you can take a taxi or shared jeep to Govindghat as mentioned above.
