Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Varanasi Railway Station. Exit the station and head towards the main road (Station Road). Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Golghar Road. Turn left onto Golghar Road and continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Visheshwarganj Road. Turn right onto Visheshwarganj Road and walk for another 500 meters. You will see a local market area. Continue straight through the market, and after approximately 300 meters, you will come to a small lane on your left called Shitala Gali.

  • Rickshaw

    From the Dasaswamedh Ghat, find an auto-rickshaw (shared or private). Ask the driver to take you to 'Ghasi Tola, Shitala Gali.' The ride will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The auto-rickshaw will drop you off at the entrance of Shitala Gali. From there, walk for about 100 meters into the lane, and you will find the Pita Maheshwar Mahadev Temple on your right at number 96.

    If you are near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, exit the temple area and head towards the lane leading to the main road. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Chhatra Manjil Road.
