The Majestic Indiana Steam Clock: A Timeless Attraction

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Indiana State Museum, head east on West Washington Street toward South West Street. After a short walk, turn left onto South West Street and continue until you reach West Maryland Street. Take a right turn onto West Maryland Street and after a few blocks, you will arrive at the Canal Walk. Follow the Canal Walk heading north, and you will see the Indiana Steam Clock located along the pathway.

• Public Transit

  From the Indianapolis Artsgarden, walk to the nearest bus stop on Washington Street. Board the IndyGo Route 8 - Washington Street bus heading east. After about 5 stops, get off at the stop near the Indiana State Museum. From there, walk east on West Washington Street to South West Street, turn left, and then right onto West Maryland Street. Head to the Canal Walk and follow it north to the Indiana Steam Clock.

• Biking

  Starting from the Indianapolis Zoo, take the bike path that leads north along the White River. Follow the bike path until you reach the intersection with the Canal Walk. Turn left to join the Canal Walk path, and continue heading north. You will find the Indiana Steam Clock along the Canal Walk after a short ride.

• Scooter

  If you are near Monument Circle, rent a scooter using a local scooter-sharing service. Head west on East Market Street and continue until you reach South Illinois Street. Turn left on South Illinois Street, then take a right onto West Washington Street. Continue to the Canal Walk and follow it north until you reach the Indiana Steam Clock.
