  • Public Transit (Bus)

    If you are starting from downtown Indianapolis, you can take the IndyGo bus service. Board the bus at the nearest stop on Washington St. If you are at the City-County Building (200 E. Washington St.), walk east to the bus stop. Take Bus Route 8 (Washington) towards the east. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop at E. Washington St. & S. Alabama St. From there, walk south on Alabama St. until you reach E. Maryland St. Turn left on Maryland St. and continue until you reach the Indianapolis Historic Preserve located at 200 E Washington St #1801.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the Market East District or nearby, the Indianapolis Historic Preserve is easily accessible by foot. Start at the intersection of E. Washington St. and S. Alabama St. Head east on Washington St. for about 2 blocks until you reach 200 E Washington St. The entrance to the Preserve will be on your right. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Indiana State House.

    For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-share stations in downtown Indianapolis.
