Getting There

  • Car

    Start by exiting Morgan-Monroe State Forest via the main entrance onto State Road 37. Head north for about 10 miles until you reach the junction with I-69. Merge onto I-69 N and continue for about 15 miles. Take exit 104 to merge onto I-465 W towards Chicago. After about 10 miles, take exit 14 for I-70 W towards Terre Haute. Continue on I-70 W for about 10 miles and then take exit 83A for West Washington Street. Follow West Washington Street for about 1 mile, and the Indianapolis Zoo will be on your left at 1200 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46222.

  • Public Transportation

    From Morgan-Monroe State Forest, you will need to first arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest bus station in Bloomington, IN. Once at the Bloomington Transit Center, take the Route 3 bus towards College Mall. Transfer to the Route 5 bus at College Mall, which will take you to the Indianapolis Public Library stop. From there, you can take the Red Line bus towards the University of Indianapolis, which will drop you near the zoo.
