Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start on I-65 N. Take exit 253 toward US-30 E. Follow US-30 E to IN-49 N in Valparaiso. Continue on IN-49 N. Take the exit toward US-30 E/Valparaiso. Merge onto US-30 E, then take a slight right onto IN-49 N. Continue on IN-49 N for about 10 miles. Exit onto IN-2 W. After about 3 miles, turn right onto W 700 N. The Shirley Heinze Land Trust will be on your left at 109 W 700 N, Valparaiso, IN 46385.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take a South Shore Line train from Chicago to the Dune Park station. From Dune Park, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the Shirley Heinze Land Trust, which is about a 10-minute drive away. After about 3 miles, turn right onto W 700 N. The Shirley Heinze Land Trust will be on your left. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic laws.

  If you're staying nearby and wish to walk, ensure you are equipped for a longer trek. From downtown Valparaiso, head north on N Washington St, then follow the road until it intersects with W 700 N. Turn left on W 700 N and continue until you reach Shirley Heinze Land Trust at 109 W 700 N. This route is approximately 3 miles and will take about an hour on foot, so plan accordingly.
