Public Bus
To reach Gunung Abang in Kintamani from Ubud, start by taking a public bus from Ubud Central Bus Station. Look for a bus heading towards Bangli. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Bangli, you will need to take a local bemo (a small minivan public transport) to Kintamani. Ask the driver to drop you off at Abangsongan. The bemo ride should take about 30 minutes.
Bicycle Rental
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Ubud. From Ubud, head towards Jalan Raya Andong and continue on the road towards Tegallalang. Follow the signs to Kintamani, which is around 30 kilometers away. The ride will take between 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your speed. Once you reach Kintamani, look for signs to Gunung Abang. It's a well-known peak and locals can help direct you.
Walking from Kintamani
If you are already in Kintamani, you can walk to Gunung Abang. From the main area of Kintamani, head towards Jl. Raya Kintamani and follow the signs to Gunung Abang. The walk is about 3 kilometers and will take around 45 minutes. The path is quite scenic, so enjoy the beautiful views along the way.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
For a more direct and comfortable option, you can use a taxi or a ride-hailing service like Gojek or Grab. Simply input 'Gunung Abang' or 'Abangsongan, Kintamani' in the app. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they understand the destination, as some may not be familiar with Gunung Abang. The travel time will vary depending on your location in Bali, but expect around 1 to 1.5 hours from Ubud.
