If you are starting your journey from Banda Neira, drive towards the harbor area. Follow the signs towards the Banda Islands harbor, where you will find a boat service to Gunung Api Banda. The distance is approximately 10 kilometers and should take around 20 minutes by car.
Public Transportation
From Banda Neira, you can take a local ojek (motorcycle taxi) or a shared minibus to the harbor. The ojek ride will cost around IDR 30,000 to IDR 50,000, while the minibus fare is about IDR 10,000. Once you reach the harbor, look for local fishermen or boat services that go to Gunung Api Banda. Arrange a boat for around IDR 200,000 to IDR 300,000 for a round trip.

Once at the harbor, negotiate a price with the boat operators. Ensure you confirm the return time. The boat ride to Gunung Api Banda takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Keep in mind that the sea conditions can affect travel time, and it’s advisable to check the weather before heading out.
