If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Balikpapan city center. Head southeast on Jl. Jend. Sudirman towards Jl. Pahlawan, then continue onto Jl. Soekarno-Hatta. Follow the signs for the Samarinda route. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the intersection for Karya Merdeka, Samboja. Take a left turn onto Jl. Karya Merdeka, and follow it for about 10 km until you reach Bangkirai Hills. Please note that parking is available at the location, but check if there are any parking fees upon arrival.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a minibus from Balikpapan's main bus terminal (Terminal Batu Ampar) heading towards Samboja. The fare is approximately IDR 30,000. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Karya Merdeka. The journey will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Karya Merdeka, you may need to take a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to reach Bangkirai Hills, which will cost around IDR 20,000 for the short ride.
