Car
If you are driving from Palangkaraya, take the Trans Kalimantan Highway (Route 1) heading towards Banjarmasin. After about 300 km, you will reach the junction to the East Kalimantan region. Continue on the highway for another 300 km until you reach Balikpapan. From Balikpapan, follow the signs to Kemala Beach, which is approximately a 30-minute drive along Jalan Mulawarman. Note that there is an entrance fee of IDR 10,000 per person at Kemala Beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Kemala Beach via public transportation from Palangkaraya, you can take a bus to Balikpapan. The bus journey will take approximately 8-10 hours. Once you arrive in Balikpapan, you can take a local minibus or taxi to Kemala Beach, which is about a 30-minute drive. Ensure you have cash for the bus fare and taxi, as well as the entrance fee of IDR 10,000 per person at the beach.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
If you are already in Balikpapan, you can use a taxi or ride-sharing service to get to Kemala Beach. Simply enter the destination in the app or tell the driver to take you to Kemala Beach. The journey should take around 30 minutes. Remember to prepare for the entrance fee of IDR 10,000 per person.
