Car
If you're starting from Sorong, drive towards the port area. You'll need to head to the Sorong Harbor (Pelabuhan Sorong). From there, you will take a ferry to Waigeo Island. The ferry ride takes approximately 2-3 hours and costs around IDR 100,000 to IDR 200,000 per person, depending on the ferry operator. Once you arrive at Waigeo, continue by car or motorcycle to Saporkren. The roads can be rough, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended. The distance from the harbor to Saporkren is about 40 kilometers, which may take around 1-2 hours due to road conditions.

Public Transportation (Ferry)
To reach Saporkren from other parts of Central Papua, first make your way to Sorong. There are buses and shared vans that can take you to Sorong from nearby towns. Once in Sorong, proceed to the Sorong Harbor to catch a ferry to Waigeo Island. It's advisable to book your ferry tickets in advance, especially during peak tourist season. After arriving at Waigeo, you can either hire a local driver to take you to Saporkren or rent a motorbike to navigate the 40-kilometer journey to Saporkren.

Once you arrive at Waigeo Island via ferry, renting a motorcycle is a great option for reaching Saporkren at your own pace. Motorcycle rentals are available near the harbor, and the cost typically ranges from IDR 75,000 to IDR 150,000 per day. Be sure to have your international driving permit. Follow the main road from the harbor towards Saporkren, which is well-marked, but be cautious of the road's condition.
