Car
If you are traveling by car, you will first need to take a ferry from one of the Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, or Gili Meno) to the mainland of Lombok. Ferries are frequent and take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on which Gili Island you are departing from. Once you arrive at Bangsal harbor on Lombok, you will need to hire a taxi or a private car. The drive to Senaru Crater Rim will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to inform your driver of your destination, which is located in the village of Senaru, Tanjung, North Lombok Regency.

Public Transportation
For those on a budget, public transportation is available. From Bangsal harbor, you can take a local bus or 'angkot' heading to Tanjung. Inform the driver you want to get off at Senaru. The bus ride may take about 1.5 hours. Once you reach Senaru village, you can either walk or hire a local ojek (motorbike taxi) to take you up to the Crater Rim. Make sure to agree on the fare before getting on the bike.
