Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major city, Surakarta (Solo). Head east on Jl. Slamet Riyadi towards Jl. Adi Sucipto, then continue onto Jl. Raya Solo-Kertosono. Follow the signs for Jl. Raya Solo-Tawangmangu. After about 20 km, turn left onto Jl. Lawu, which leads you closer to the slopes of Mount Lawu. Continue following Jl. Lawu until you reach the area of Anggrasmanis, where you will find Candi Kethek (located at C546+F3W). There is parking available near the temple. Note that road conditions may vary, so ensure your vehicle is in good condition for these rural roads.

Public Transportation
To reach Candi Kethek using public transportation, start from Surakarta (Solo) by taking a bus to Tawangmangu. The bus terminal in Solo is located in the city center, and you can find buses heading to Tawangmangu approximately every hour. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Tawangmangu, you can take a local ojeg (motorcycle taxi) or a taxi to Candi Kethek. The distance from Tawangmangu to Candi Kethek is about 10 km, and the ojeg fare usually ranges from IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000.

Combination of Public Transport and Walking
If you prefer a more adventurous route, consider taking a bus from Surakarta (Solo) to Karanganyar. From Karanganyar, you can catch a local minibus or shared taxi heading towards Jenawi. After arriving in Jenawi, you will need to walk approximately 3 km to reach Candi Kethek. The path may involve some uphill walking, so be prepared with appropriate footwear and water. The total cost for the bus and minibus should be around IDR 50,000.
