After about 30 kilometers, you will reach the town of Borobudur. Continue straight on the main road and follow the signs to Borobudur Temple. As you approach Borobudur, look for signs directing you to Jl. Pete Dusun Pete. Turn left onto Jl. Pete Dusun Pete and continue for about 2 kilometers until you reach Sinar Hill. Parking is available on site, and there may be a small fee for parking, so keep some cash handy.
Public Transportation
To reach Sinar Hill using public transportation, start by taking a bus or a train from major cities like Jakarta or Surabaya to Yogyakarta. Once you arrive in Yogyakarta, head to the Jombor Bus Terminal, where you can catch a bus to Magelang. The bus ride will take about 1.5 hours. After reaching Magelang, you can take a local angkot (minibus) or a taxi to Borobudur. Inform the driver that you want to go to Jl. Pete Dusun Pete, which is about 10 kilometers from Borobudur. The angkot fare will be around IDR 10,000 to IDR 20,000. Alternatively, you can hire a taxi, which may cost around IDR 100,000 to IDR 150,000.
Motorbike rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a motorbike in Yogyakarta. You can find rental shops near the city center, and prices typically range from IDR 70,000 to IDR 100,000 per day. Once you have your motorbike, follow the same route as you would by car. This option allows you to explore the area at your own pace. Ensure you have an international driving license and wear a helmet for safety. After reaching Borobudur, proceed to Jl. Pete Dusun Pete, following the same directions given for car travel.
