This route will take approximately 8-10 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Banyuwangi, continue to follow the signs to Pesanggaran. Sukamade Beach is located in Dusun Sukamande, Sarongan. From Pesanggaran, you will need to take a smaller road towards Sukamade Beach. The last part of the journey involves driving through a forested area, and the road can be rough. It's advisable to use a 4WD vehicle for this section.
By Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start your journey by taking a train from Jakarta or Surabaya to Banyuwangi. The train ride takes around 12-14 hours. Upon arriving at Banyuwangi, you can take a minibus (angkot) to Pesanggaran. The fare is approximately IDR 20,000-30,000. From Pesanggaran, you will need to hire a local ojeg (motorcycle taxi) or a car rental service to reach Sukamade Beach. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which can range from IDR 100,000-200,000 depending on the negotiation.
Combination of Car and Ojeg
If you are in a nearby city, consider renting a car to reach Banyuwangi, then switch to an ojeg for the final leg to Sukamade Beach. This combination allows for flexibility, especially if you want to explore the area. Ensure you have a GPS or map application to navigate the forest road to Sukamade Beach after reaching Pesanggaran.
