If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Balikpapan, which is a major city in East Kalimantan. Drive south on the Trans Kalimantan Highway (Route 13) for approximately 175 kilometers until you reach the town of Samarinda. In Samarinda, continue following the signs for Route 13 towards Banjarmasin. After about 130 kilometers, you will arrive in the city of Banjarmasin. From Banjarmasin, head southeast on Route 1 for about 50 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 3. Take Route 3 for approximately 80 kilometers until you reach the town of Barito Kuala. Continue to follow the signs towards the Arca Joko Dolog, which is located near the area of Taman Apsari St in Surabaya, East Java. Note that the journey may take about 8-10 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Arca Joko Dolog using public transportation, begin your journey in Balikpapan. Take a bus from Balikpapan to Samarinda, which is about a 2-hour ride. From Samarinda, take another bus to Banjarmasin, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Once in Banjarmasin, you will need to find a bus or shared van heading towards Barito Kuala. After reaching Barito Kuala, you can hire a local taxi or ojek (motorcycle taxi) to take you to Taman Apsari St in Surabaya, where Arca Joko Dolog is located. Be prepared for a long journey, as the total travel time can exceed 10 hours, and consider overnight stays if necessary. Bus fares vary, but expect to pay around IDR 100,000 to 150,000 per leg of your trip.
