If you are driving, start from Palangka Raya, the capital city of Central Kalimantan. Take Jalan Trans Kalimantan heading southwest towards Pangkalan Bun. Continue on this road for approximately 330 kilometers. As you approach Pangkalan Bun, watch for signs leading to Raja, South Arut. Turn left onto the road towards Raja and follow the signs to Istana Kuning, which is located in the West Kotawaringin Regency. The total drive should take around 5 to 6 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition and consider refueling in Pangkalan Bun.
Public Transportation
To reach Istana Kuning using public transportation, take a bus from Palangka Raya to Pangkalan Bun. Several bus companies operate this route, and tickets can be purchased at the bus terminal. The journey takes approximately 7 to 8 hours. Upon arriving in Pangkalan Bun, take a local taxi or ojek (motorcycle taxi) to reach Istana Kuning, located about 15 kilometers away in Raja, South Arut. The taxi fare should be around IDR 50,000 to IDR 100,000 depending on negotiation and traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.
