Car
If you are driving from Banjarmasin, head southeast on Jalan A. Yani towards Jalan Sudirman. Continue on this road for about 300 km until you reach Kotabaru Regency. Once in Kotabaru, follow the signs to Limbur. The Meratus Mountains are located in Limbur, Hampang. Look for local signs or maps for the exact entry points to the mountains. The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours, depending on traffic. Make sure to check the fuel levels as there are limited gas stations along the way.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Banjarmasin, take a bus from the terminal to Kotabaru. Buses leave regularly, and the journey takes about 8 hours. Once you arrive in Kotabaru, you can hire a local taxi or a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you to Limbur, Hampang, which is about 30 minutes from the bus terminal. Make sure to confirm the fare before you start your journey, as prices can vary.
Motorcycle Rental
If you prefer to explore at your own pace, consider renting a motorcycle in Kotabaru. After taking a bus from Banjarmasin to Kotabaru, head to a local rental shop. Ensure you have an international driving permit. From Kotabaru, ride to Limbur, which is approximately 20 km away. The ride offers scenic views but be cautious of the road conditions. Expected rental costs are around IDR 100,000 per day.

For a more immersive experience, consider hiring a local guide once you reach Limbur. They can provide you with insights into the Meratus Mountains and help you navigate the less-traveled paths.
