Car
If you have access to a car, begin your journey from Labuan Bajo town center. Drive towards Jalan Soekarno Hatta and continue until you reach the port area. Look for signs directing you to the 'Pelabuhan' (Harbor). The drive should take about 15-20 minutes. Once at the harbor, you will find various boat operators offering trips to Kanawa Island.
Public Transportation (Bemo)
Take a bemo (shared minibus) from the main market area in Labuan Bajo. Look for bemos heading towards the harbor or 'Pelabuhan'. The fare is typically around IDR 5,000 to IDR 10,000. Once you reach the harbor, ask the driver to drop you off at the port where boats to Kanawa Island depart. After arriving at the harbor, you will need to purchase a boat ticket to Kanawa Island.
Boat
At the harbor, you will find several boat services that operate trips to Kanawa Island. The boat ride takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Be sure to check the schedule and prices, as they may vary depending on the operator. Expect to pay around IDR 100,000 to IDR 150,000 for a round trip. It’s advisable to negotiate and confirm the return trip timing with the boat operator.
