Walking
If you are near the center of Makassar, start at the iconic Losari Beach. From Losari Beach, head east along Jl. Penghibur. Continue straight until you reach Jl. Ujung Pandang. Turn right onto Jl. Ujung Pandang and walk for about 15 minutes. You will see Fort Rotterdam on your left.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle available from various rental shops near Losari Beach. Cycle east along Jl. Penghibur for about 1 km until you reach Jl. Ujung Pandang. Turn right onto Jl. Ujung Pandang and continue cycling for about 2 km. Fort Rotterdam will be on your left side.
Public Transport (Angkot)
Find an Angkot (public minibus) heading to Jl. Ujung Pandang. You can catch one from various stops around the city center. Get off at the stop nearest to Fort Rotterdam. It should take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Once you get off, walk a short distance to reach the entrance of Fort Rotterdam.
Scooter Rental
Rent a scooter from a nearby rental service in the city. Head southeast on Jl. Haji Bau, then turn onto Jl. Penghibur. Continue east until you reach Jl. Ujung Pandang. Turn right and ride for about 2 km. Fort Rotterdam will be on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules.
