If you are starting from the central area of Makassar, head towards Jalan Ahmad Yani. Walk along this road until you reach the intersection with Jalan Masjid Raya. Turn left onto Jalan Masjid Raya and continue straight. The Masjid Raya Makassar will be on your right, just after passing through some local shops and food stalls. The mosque is located in the Bontoala district, so keep an eye out for the large minaret, which is a prominent feature of the skyline.
Public Transport (Angkot)
Find the nearest Angkot stop on Jalan Ahmad Yani. Look for Angkot that goes towards Bontoala; they usually have signage indicating their routes. Board the Angkot and tell the driver you are going to Masjid Raya Makassar. It's a short ride, and the driver will drop you off near Jalan Masjid Raya. From there, walk a short distance along Jalan Masjid Raya to reach the mosque entrance.
Bicycle
